Skincare Layering Order: Your Morning and Evening Routine, Step by Step
Share
Short answer: apply skincare from the thinnest texture to the thickest: cleanser, then eye care, then serum, then moisturiser, and in the morning sunscreen last. Water-light layers go on first so they can reach the skin; richer creams go on top to seal them in.
The one rule behind every routine
Thin before thick, and watery before oily. A light serum can't get through a rich cream, so if you put the cream on first, most of the serum just sits on top. Sunscreen is the exception to "thickest last": in the morning it's always the final step, because it has to form an even layer on the surface.

Where do eye patches fit?
Straight after cleansing, on clean, dry skin. Leave them on for about 15 minutes, peel them off, and gently pat the leftover serum into the skin. There's no need to rinse. Then carry on with eye cream, serum and moisturiser as usual. They work just as well in the morning before make-up as in the evening.
How to apply eye cream properly
Use your ring finger, which presses the most lightly. Take a small amount and pat, don't rub, along the orbital bone from the inner corner outwards. Keep it off the lash line and out of your eyes. Face serums and night creams should stay away from the eye area too. That skin is thinner, which is why eye products are made separately.
How many serums can I use?
One per routine is enough for most people, and two at most. If you use two, put the more watery one first. More actives don't mean better skin. A short routine you stick to every day beats a long one you skip.
Do I need to wait between layers?
Not long. Give each layer about a minute to absorb, until your skin no longer feels wet, then apply the next one. Before sunscreen and make-up, a couple of minutes helps everything sit evenly.
Frequently asked questions
Does eye cream go before or after serum?
Before. Apply eye cream to clean skin, then your serum and moisturiser, keeping the serum away from the eye area.
Is serum applied before or after moisturiser?
Before. Serums are lighter and are designed to go on clean skin; moisturiser goes over them.
Can I use the same serum morning and evening?
Yes, if the product allows it. Our peptide, prebiotic and exosome serums can all be used morning and evening. Vitamin C is designed for the morning.
What is always the last step in the morning?
Sunscreen. None of our products replaces it.
